ELU-S 2025 Conference - What Kind of Europe Can We Reach For?

In september, I was lucky to attend the first conference organised by the European Law Unbound Society (ELU-S). The theme was “European Law Unbound: What Kind of Europe Can We Reach For?”.
I took part in a roundtable discussion with fellow EU Law scholars on Black Feminist Epistemology & Decolonising EU Law. It gave us a forum to reflect on positionality, intellectual marronages and our overall experience as Black women legal scholars in Europe.
Thank you to my co-panelists - Gildelent Aty-Biyo, Nozizwe Dube, Professor Iyiola Solanke, Professor Diamond Ashiaghbor and Professor Lionel Zevounou - for a very enriching discussion which had a lot of influence on the way I approach my PhD research project.
I hope to continue being able having such discussions in the future, notably at ELU-S 2026 which will take place in Lisbon on the theme "Words or Deeds: the European Moment".
